The story of Titolo

Founded in 1996 in the city of Bern by Franca and Cosimo Titolo, the business was initially specialized in sportswear. It all started with the economic boom of the 90s, when the two decided to start their own family project and enter entrepreneurship. Their Sons Italo and Rolando Titolo quickly joined the family business after graduation and took over Titolo in early 2000 when their parents retired.

Both acquired a wealth of expertise in the textile industry, which they used to build Titolo, a sneaker & streetwear store known beyond the borders of Switzerland.

Their invaluable knowledge and endless passion lead them to great collaborations with different brands. They have had the privilege of designing shoes with many brands such as Rebook, Diadora, Adisas, Asics, Vans, Le Coq Sportif, Puma and many others. Today they collaborate with Nike, Jordan, On, Adidas, Lacoste in various campaigns, some of which you can find on our editorial page.

In the stores in Bern and Zurich you will find a wide selection of shoes, clothes and accessories.

Bern, where it all began, is the very first store, located in the Gelbes district. In the beginning, the store was located only on one floor, but due to its success, it was soon expanded to two floors to offer customers a much larger selection. Even today, you can feel the family character, the cozy and comfortable atmosphere, rich in stories that make you feel at home immediately.

With the opening of the Zurich branch in 2014, Titolo experienced a real boom. Italo's brother and his wife, Manuela Titolo, immediately fell in love with the premises, which previously housed Zurich's oldest cinema, Kino Wellenberg. The family succeeded in transforming this historic location into a store worth seeing in Zurich's old town. Its atypical design and interior have made the store the talk of magazines and blogs like Highsnobiety. Even today the unique store attracts the curiosity of sneaker lovers and street style fans.

Always on the lookout for new trends, the Titolo’s decided to open one of the first Swiss online stores with a large selection of sneakers and clothing from all over the world. This online presence allowed Titolo to open its borders and offer its products to the whole world.

The brand, which initially offered clothes and sports shoes and whose clientele came mainly from the world of boxing, dancing or running, has managed to follow the trend wave and is now one of the pioneers of Swiss street style.

Thanks to the knowledge and passion behind Titolo, the brand was able to upgrade sportswear and combine milieus such as music, sports, dance, skateboarding and graffiti. The fascination with the ever-changing fashion industry and love of street style unites Titolo with it’s customers, fueling their desire to continue and offer more.

STREETWEAR

Streetwear is a term for casual clothing that became global in the 1990s. It all started in New York where fashion was influenced by hip-hop culture and skateboarders. The term quickly spread from New York to the rest of the world. Streetwear includes anything casual and comfortable, like baggy denim jeans, caps and sneakers. Streetwear style is constantly evolving and developing. In the past couple of years, 90s fashion has started to become trendy again and that decade is having a big influence on streetwear styles. The hype for trendy sneakers and the baggy jeans look is back – at least until the next trend comes along.
