Support for our crew is in our DNA. It’s massively important for us to hear and share our community’s stories, and our project at Café Revolution in Bern for the Nike Air Jordan campaign was all about that. We heard stories from a creative group of women of color, whose emotions and authenticity made this campaign truly meaningful.
Our aim at Titolo is to learn and grow through interaction with community members from all sorts of backgrounds, to cultivate an inclusive place online, and then use our platform to give people a space to create inspiring content. For this Nike sneakers footwear campaign, we wanted to use a place in real life that echoes our intentions – Café Revolution in Bern was totally perfect.
The women we met come from different creative backgrounds. Their insight helped Titolo authentically promote Nike Jordan shoes from a safe space – one that was founded on the basis of providing strength, security, compassion and friendship. A safe space for people of color and anyone who experiences sexism and racism.
For the footwear shoot, the women wore black-and-white clothing to make the black-and-white Nike shoes pop. The café is lush, full of plants and brimming with positivity. Titolo made sure POC were represented behind the lens too. Plus, the entire hair team and MUAs were women of color – we know that, sadly, MUAs at backstage shoots often don’t have a kit diverse enough to cater to POC, and models of color often have to do their own hair and makeup.
“Having a safe space to imagine and dream and (re)invent yourself is the first step to being happy and successful, whatever road you choose to pursue.”
This café and campaign provide just that, and Titolo intends to do the same.
